As Latinos living with HIV/AIDS, we face discrimination and stigma. Language and cultural barriers make it difficult for us to efficiently access various medical, social, and immigration services. For these reasons, and observing the needs of many Hispanics like ourselves living with HIV, we have come together to address these issues, creating and offering solutions so that HIV-positive Latinos and Latinas can receive support and guidance from other governmental and non-governmental organizations. Our primary function is to create synergies among ourselves and to be recognized as an ethnic community with a strengthened and respected voice within the HIV/AIDS community in Toronto and the rest of Ontario.
